Sadly, I missed the event last Feb. 20, but I still managed to catch up with what Sony has revealed that time, and I must say they have learned a lot from their past mistakes and the Playstation 4 is all improvements from the PS3.
On the technical side, the innards of the PS4 is much more powerful than the current-gen consoles, which translate into better graphics, while still running smoothly at 60fps. We could also expect larger game environments but less things popping in and out of view, and less to no more loading times. Better A.I. should be there too because all that I’ve seen in today’s games are A.S. (Artificial Stupidity).
We also have a new Dualshock controller, and there are a ton of changes. It now resembles the X360 controller ergonomically, it has a touchpad (which I think is too small to be used comfortably), a share and options button in replacement of the select button, it now has concave analog sticks and the L2 & R2 triggers are now..triggers.
They really gave the right focus on games this time, with their in-house developers already working on familiar IPs in the form of Killzone: Shadow Fall and Infamous: Second Son. Third party developers are also cooking something up for the PS4, like Destiny, Diablo 3, and more. These games will surely smooth the Playstation 4’s way into gamer’s households.
That’s all the info I can give at the moment…
